Students report issues after new Wi-Fi equipment installed in dorms

The University of Memphis changed Wi-Fi equipment in residence halls over the summer, but students have since reported slower speeds and unreliable connections. University CIO Jeff Delaney said the upgrades were necessary and that technicians are making adjustments now that students are back on campus. Speed tests show download rates are sufficient for basic use, but upload speeds remain weak.

Criminal justice coalition kicks off year with community outreach plans

The Interdisciplinary Criminal Justice Coalition (ICJC) opened the semester with an introductory meeting where members discussed research, outreach and advocacy goals. The student-led group plans to focus on re-entry support for formerly incarcerated people and will partner with other justice reform organizations, beginning with a Sept. 30 event at Rhodes College
