Many students love football, but not everyone has a car or money for parking, leaving them stuck watching a game they could have attended. Fortunately, there are multiple free or low-cost ways for students to get to Tiger football games.
Here are three different ways students can get to Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium:
The Blue Line Shuttle
The Blue Line is a shuttle service provided by the University of Memphis. It picks up students at the Central Avenue parking lot starting four hours before kickoff and runs until 30 minutes after the game ends. The drop-off and pickup point is on Glenn Rodgers Sr. Street, near Gate 1 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
The shuttle is free for all students and faculty. For more info about other routes, students can download the Blue Line app.

Biking
Students with bikes can take advantage of free bike parking in lots 7, 8, 9 and 11 around the stadium. From campus, ride down Southern Avenue (on the south side of campus) and continue up Early Maxwell Boulevard to the stadium.
The ride is about 2.7 miles one way, or 5.4 miles round trip. Just be sure to bring a lock to secure your bike at one of the racks.
Rideshare Options
If biking or the shuttle isn’t an option, students can use rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft. These provide flexibility since you can book a ride whenever you want, but expect potential surge pricing due to high demand near the stadium.
Another option is the MATA bus. The Madison line runs along the east and south sides of campus, with stops near the stadium on its south and west sides. The fare is just $2 for a day pass, but service can be limited. The bus runs once an hour and weekend schedules are reduced, so plan accordingly to avoid being stranded after the game.
