The University of Memphis held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday to open the Beth Wilson Public Relations Engagement Zone inside the Meeman Journalism Building

Wilson, a 2004 graduate of the University of Memphis, is the founder and CEO of Wilson PR, an award-winning integrated communications firm based in Memphis. She also currently serves as an adjunct professor in the university’s public relations program.

The space is designed to serve as a hub for students interested in public relations, providing a professional environment for collaboration, client-based projects, and community engagements.

Dr. Matthew Haught, chair of the Department of Journalism & Strategic Media, highlighted Wilson’s contributions to the field and mentioned the university’s consecutive wins of the Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvil Award, which recognizes the best undergraduate public relations program in the country.
