Anti-transgender activist Riley Gaines is slated to make a speaking appearance at the University of Memphis in November.

According to a Turning Point USA tabling booth on campus, the group has reached an agreement with Gaines to visit in November and is working with the university to finalize details.

An official event page is already listed on the TigerZone app. The description states that Gaines will speak on “the importance of gender norms as well as the importance of keeping women’s spaces safe, most specifically women’s sports.” While TPUSA said the appearance is not yet official, TigerZone lists the event for Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the UC Theater.

Gaines was a swimmer with the University of Kentucky and rose to national prominence in 2022 when she tied for fifth place with Lia Thomas, a transgender woman competing for the University of Pennsylvania.
