UofM replaces homecoming parade with new Roar Fest block party

The University of Memphis is replacing its traditional homecoming parade with a new event called Roar Fest, a campus-wide block party meant to boost engagement among students, alumni, and the community. Scheduled for Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. on the University Center lawn, the event will feature games, inflatables, food trucks, a pep rally, and a special performance by Memphis rapper Al Kapone.

Aux Cord Wars event ends abruptly after fire alarm

Campus police confirmed there was no fire or emergency threat, and officials are investigating whether a student intentionally pulled the alarm. Memphis rapper K Carbon’s surprise performance was cut short as alarms sounded, prompting confusion and an early end to one of Homecoming Week’s most anticipated events.
