On Wednesday, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. hosted a canned food drive in the University Center. This event highlighted the charitable acts of the fraternity as they value service with the motto, “Achievement in every field of human endeavors.”

The table collecting donations was staffed by Kappa members Fedel Jones and Christian Mabry, who eagerly shared information about their chapter with passing students.

“The conceited Kappa Beta chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi always looks out for the student body in every way.” Jones said.

The fraternity followed through on that promise, collecting cans to support those in need. Mabry added that service is a cornerstone of their organization.

“Our fifth objective of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. is to ensure service in the public interest,” he said. “So you’ll see us doing food drives, shoe drives or teaching people how to tie ties in the community.”

By the end of the event, the table was stacked with cans of corn, green beans and chili. One more opportunity for the Kappa Beta Chapter to give back to the Memphis community.
