Tigers start indoor track with a bang

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Memphis track team began the 2025-2026 season with seven event wins on Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex, which was the most of any team in competition. 

Memphis logged 10 top-five finishes in the event as the Tigers combined for 21 personal bests, which is the most recorded in a competition since Feb. 15, 2025.  

Gizele Clayton claimed a victory in the women’s 60-meter hurdles for the second straight year and Poorna Raorane took home a victory in the shotput. In the men’s events, Alex Bobak won the mile, while Courtland Noble secured a win the 400 meters.  

The Tigers will return to action at the Bob Teel Invitational on January 24th in Columbus Missouri.
