Domestic Dispute at South Hall

Campus police responded to a 911 call on Aug. 20 regarding domestic disturbance. A female student told officers she was involved in an argument with her ex-boyfriend, according to a report written by officer John Hudgens.

The suspect attempted to grab the victim’s phone from her hand, and while the two fought over the phone, the case was broken.

When police tried to make contact with the suspect, he ran. He was chased for several blocks and was finally caught on Brister and Mynders.

Police identified the suspect as Alexander Green, 28, who is not a student at the university.

According to the police report, a witness called and observed the suspect throwing a pistol in a nearby bush. The weapon was found, and the suspect was charged with assault, vandalism, evading, weapon possession and was taken to jail.
