The area surrounding the University of Memphis offers a variety of dining spots for students looking to enjoy Thanksgiving in their own signature way.

Local favorites such as Smackers, Soul Fish Café and Crumpy’s each bring something different to the table, giving students plenty of flavorful options to choose from.

Smackers, located on 569 S Highland St., is a restaurant that offers food that can appeal to all tastebuds. Smackers has a broad menu that features foods like savory burgers, crisp quesadillas, and seasoned boneless wings. With affordable pricing and close proximity to campus, Smackers is a convenient spot for UofM students to enjoy American classics.

Crumpy’s Hot Wings, located at 671 S. Highland St., is a Memphis staple known for what many consider the best wings in the city. With generous portions and well-seasoned, juicy chicken, Crumpy’s has long been a favorite for locals. Students can enjoy freshly prepared wings within walking distance of campus.

Soul Fish Café, located on 862 S Cooper St., features Southern style soul-food that will remind you of a traditional home cooked meal. The golden-brown fried catfish, cheesy, flavorful mac n’ cheese, and earthy collard greens are among the most popular items on the menu and evoke authentic Southern cuisine. For students who want to eat a family-style meal, Soul Fish Café offers a welcoming environment to those who are longing for old-fashioned soul food.

For students with different tastes, these three nearby restaurants offer an array of options to enjoy during the Thanksgiving season.
