Memphis volleyball and first year head coach Cheri Lindsay improved to 7-2 Saturday, defeating UT Martin 3-1 at Elma Roane Fieldhouse in four sets.
The Tigers dropped the first set 18-25, before sweeping the next three sets, winning set two 25-12, set three 25-18 and set four 25-18. The 7-2 start is Memphis' best since the 2019 season.
Amanda Hardt led the way yet again for the Tigers, finishing with 23 kills. Zaniah Hoskins also contributed 10 kills to the effort. Memphis won each of its three games of the Carrie Yerty Classic 3-1, and, remarkably, they lost the first set in each contest.
The Tigers return to action Tuesday, when they will make the short trip to Oxford to take on Ole Miss. The game is at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be streamed on SEC Network+.
