The female signed a Consent to Search form. When one of the officers asked if the male had any controlled substances, the female went to the closet and pulled out a plastic bag containing green leafy substance. The female told officers there were several bottles of alcohol in the refrigerator the male had brought with him without her knowledge.
The bottles of alcohol were turned over to Residence Life personnel at the scene. The bag of green leafy substance was weighed at 4.9 grams and tested positive as marijuana.

An officer was entering Walgreens at Park and Highland when the cashier indicated a man leaving the stored had robbed her. The officer ran north after the suspect across Park Avenue. The officer said the man jumped into a green sedan and drove east on Marion Avenue. Other officers responded to the first officer's call for assistance. The Memphis Police Department was called by dispatch and advised of the situation.
U of M officers headed south down Shotwell Street and encountered the suspect turning off Marion onto Park. The officers turned on emergency equipment and attempted to pull the man over.
The man turned north onto Perkins Road, then west onto Southern Avenue. When the man attempted to turn south on Graham Street, he missed the turn, hit a light pole and drove into a yard.
The brakes on the U of M police car failed, causing it to strike the man's vehicle. The man got out of the car and started running down Graham, where he was finally apprehended by an officer.
The man was subdued and handcuffed by officers. When the suspect was searched, $100 was found in his pocket. The Memphis Police Department was called to the scene, where they took photographs.

Officers responded to a call from Central Avenue concerning theft of vehicle parts. The officers observed a vehicle turning out of the lot, and stopped the vehicle at one of the exits.
One of the officers observed a radio in the back seat of the vehicle. Officers questioned the male and female occupants of the vehicle, who said they were not students of The U of M. The occupants said they were visiting a friend who lived in Richardson Towers.
The officers checked the name of their friend, but did not find a resident by that name. A witness advised the officers the passenger had gotten out of the car the officers had stopped, into a green car and then back into the original car.
The witness told the officers that the driver had stopped and looked into other cars as well. The officers went to the green car and saw that the back window had been broken and the radio was missing. The officers found several burglary tools in the car they had stopped. Both occupants were given a trespass warning, and charged with burglary of motor vehicle and possession of burglary tools.
The Memphis Police Department arrived and took pictures of the crime scene and property. The occupants of the car were taken to 201 Poplar. The vehicle was towed by the Memphis Police Department.
