FORT WORTH, Tx. - In hopes of advancing to its third Sweet Sixteen in program history, Memphis women's soccer traveled to The Lone Star State Friday night to play two-seed TCU. The Horned Frogs jumped on Memphis from the start and didn't let up for 90 minutes, defeating the visiting Tigers 4-0.

Memphis could never really recover after TCU scored three goals in the first 15 minutes of the match and adding a fourth late in the first half. From there, the Tigers had to go against to more possession-oriented play in the second half by the home team.

Despite this match not being an ideal end to the year, there is no denying that this was a great season as a whole for the Tigers. Memphis went undefeated through the regular season, nearly swept the American Conference yearly honors, earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and won a game at home. Not to mention it drew two of the three largest crowds in program history to the Park Ave. Campus for games against Tennessee (2,218) and Illinois (1,801) in the same year.

The Tigers were able to accomplish all of that with the youngest team in the history of Memphis women's soccer. It's safe to say that the future looks extremely bright.
