Men's XC finishes 7th at American Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Memphis men's cross country team finished seventh at the American Conference championship meet in Charlotte Saturday morning with 213 points.

The Tigers were led by junior Robert Randall, who ran a 24:34.1 in the 8k distance, good for 25th place individually and a significant personal best. He was followed closely by sophomore Kenny Guy, who finished 38th with a time of 24:51.6. Alex Bobak(54th), Urko Extebeste(60th) and Leonardo Mazzoni(61st) closed out the scorers for Memphis.

The Tigers, who entered the meet ranked No. 14 in the NCAA's South Region, finished in the middle of the pack in the American, while conference powerhouse, Tulsa, took the crown for the 11th time in 12 seasons.

Two Tigers, Randall and Guy, will race at the NCAA South Regional in Huntsville, Alabama on November 14.
