WICHITA, Kan. - Memphis Volleyball dropped to 9-10 and 1-4 in conference play against Wichita State Friday night in an away game, losing in straight sets as they have in every game in their current five game losing streak which started against Wichita State in September.

The first set was a good start to the match for Memphis; they looked the better team until the 16-13 lead they had became a 16-16 tie. From there, it was a 1-2-point deficit for either team and a competitive set until Wichita State pulled away to win 30-28. The second and third sets were more dominant for the Shockers, with the Tigers not having a lead past the first set.  The first set momentum flip and subsequent set loss was something Memphis never really recovered from, looking a little behind in sets two and three and losing them 25-17 and 25-16.

Freshman Riley McClosky had a solid performance, once again leading the team with 8 kills and 8.5 points followed in kills by team pillars Za’niya Boyles and Janyah Henderson at 7 and 6 kills. Boyles also had 7.5 points and Henderson turned in a team best 10 as well.

Memphis looks to end this losing streak and get the season back on track Sunday against Tulsa in an away game, the game will be available to watch on ESPN+.
