Volleyball falls at Temple in four sets

PHILADELPHIA— The Memphis Tigers volleyball team (10-15) suffered a defeat to Temple (13-11) in four sets at McGonigle Hall on Sunday afternoon, extending their losing streak to four games

The first set was a seesaw affair early until Temple went on a 6-0 scoring run. From that point on, Temple never looked back, winning the first set, 25-16. Both teams traded points for the bulk of the second set until an attack error by Temple put the Tigers up 24-22. Memphis proceeded to win the second set, 25-23, after a kill by Jasmyn Tate.

In the third set, Memphis started off strong and led 9-3 early on. Memphis committed three straight errors late in the set, falling 21-25. In the fourth and final set, Temple started off hot and led 7-2. The Tigers pulled within three after three kills from Zaniah Hoskins, but it wasn’t enough. The Owls won the set 25-17, winning the match.

The Tigers will face UAB at Elma Roane Fieldhouse on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
