The Memphis men's soccer team fell 3-1 at Charlotte on Friday after the 49ers responded to the Tigers tying the game up midway through the second half with two goals to seal the game.
After Charlotte scored late in the first half, Memphis responded with a Miller Lashlee goal in the 62nd minute. Charlotte responded in rapid succession, with a goal just one minute and 20 seconds later.
The Tigers tried to fight back, but Ben Fisher’s goal in the 87th minute to put the 49ers up two goals eliminated any chance the Tigers had of escaping with a tie.
Memphis is now 2-2 in conference play and will return to the pitch on Oct. 12 at Florida Atlantic.
