Memphis Volleyball loses to Southern Illinois

Memphis volleyball lost 3-0 to Southern Illinois on Breast Cancer Awareness night Thursday at Elma Roane Fieldhouse to fall to 9-7.  

It was a tough night for the Tigers. They lost the first set badly 25-13. The next set was more competitive but Southern Illinois got away with it late to win 25-18. The third set was competitive for the entire time, but Southern Illinois won 25-21 to sweep the entire set, 3-0.  

Janyah Henderson led Memphis with 10 points and 8 kills. Zaniah Hoskins had 9 points and 6 kills while Jasmyn Tate had 6 points and 6 kills. This was one of the last non-conference games of the season. The Tigers were without their star player Amanda Hardt, who has been a two-time American conference player of the week this year. 

The Tigers get back to conference-play on Friday night when they play at home against UTSA. It will be at 7 p.m and streamed on ESPN plus.
