Memphis' Brianna Washington spikes the ball over the net in the Tigers' straight-sets victory over MVSU Tuesday night at Elma Roane Fieldhouse.

The Memphis volleyball team returned home after a three-game losing skid in grand fashion, beating Mississippi Valley State at Elma Roane Fieldhouse in straight sets Tuesday night.

The Tigers took the first set 25-16, the second set 25-20 and the third set 25-16 to improve to 8-5 on the season.

Freshman Zaniah Hoskins led the way for Memphis, earning 22 kills in the contest. The team was without star junior Amanda Hardt, who got injured last week.

Memphis will enter American Conference play next with a trip to New Orleans to face Tulane Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT. The match will be available to watch on ESPN+.
