Volleyball falls in straight sets vs. Wichita State

Memphis volleyball suffered its first conference defeat at Elma Roane Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon to the Wichita State Shockers 3-0 to fall to 1-1 in American Conference play.

The Shockers took the first set 25-19, the second set 25-20 and the third set 25-22 to secure their eighth consecutive victory against the Tigers.

Zaniah Hoskins led Memphis with 9 kills, and Sydney Marshall contributed 22 assists in the losing effort.

The Tigers will look to get back into the win column Wednesday when they continue their homestand with a matchup against Southern Illinois. The game will be at 6 p.m. CT and will be streamed on ESPN+.
