Men's soccer falls to UNC 3-0

The Memphis men's soccer team lost 3-0 to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Tuesday night to fall to 1-4-3 on the season, extending their winless streak to five games.

UNC dominated the game, taking 21 shots while the Tigers only took one all game. Memphis also was playing down a player after Anthony DiFalco’s red card in the 67th minute, but the game was already well in hand at that point.

The Tar Heels scored in the 22nd minute with a Nacho Abeal goal off a Gabriel Bracken Serra assist, only for their roles to be reversed in the 59th minute, when Serra scored off an Abeal assist. Finally, in the 85th minute, Riley Berge scored on a rocket from outside the box to put the Tar Heels up three goals.

Memphis returns to conference play against UAB on Sunday in Birmingham. The game is at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
