The University of Memphis Volleyball defeated Tennessee State 3-0 on Saturday. Memphis ended their opening event in their return to the Elma Roane Fieldhouse with a 3-0 record.
Memphis didn’t struggle much against Tennessee State, who fell to 0-4. Tennessee State lost both of their other games in the event as well.
Memphis won both of the first two sets easily, 25-15 and 25-14. The third set was more competitive, but Memphis still won it, 25-18. Amanda Hardt led Memphis with 11 points and 10 kills. Janyah Henderson and Zaniah Hoskins both played well and had 9 points each.
Memphis Volleyball plays next at the University of Denver on Thursday at 7 p.m. It is part of an event called the Denver Classic. The Tigers will also play Idaho State and Texas Southern at this event on Friday and Saturday.
