Predators Bounce Back On The Road to Defeat Rangers 4-1

Well, it was certainly a bounce-back game for the Preds as they won 4-1 against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. This was the first road win of the season for Nashville. 

Cole Smith would get things going for the Preds, scoring two goals in less than 5 minutes in the 1st period. This would be his first-ever multi-goal game in the NHL. 

In the 2nd period, Ryan O'Reilly made it 3-0 for the Preds as he scored his second goal as a Predator and their first powerplay goal while Adam Fox sat in the penalty box for hooking.  

Afterwards, Nashville would get their second powerplay goal of the game as forward Filip Forsberg, who has been out for nine months due to an injury. made it 4-0. Igor Shesterkin would exit the crease and Jonathan Quick would come into the game, playing his first game as a Ranger. 

The Rangers would eventually get on the board, scoring a powerplay goal from defenseman Adam Fox. 

In the 3rd period, Vincent Trocheck would have made it a 4-2 game but the goal was overturned due to the puck not crossing the goal line. The Predators would walk out of MSG with the 4-1 victory.

Jusse Saros made 24 saves in the game while Igor Shesterkin made 14 saves before getting pulled. Jonathan Quick made 9 saves in the game. 

The Predators play the San Jose Sharks at home for their next game on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. on Bally Sports South.
