Styles P's sophomore release combines his hard-hitting lyrics with fluid beats. The album seamlessly flows from the opening track featuring a rock sample to more laidback tracks.
He accomplishes what many rappers can't by producing songs about relationships and love without sounding insincere or overly commercial.
In fact, many of the featured artists are not rappers, but singers, including Akon and Marsha from Floetry. Even a Gerald Levert sample is effectively used in a song. One of the songs even features a reggae artist.
Styles P strays from the usual mainstream hip hop subject matter in a song on which he vocalizes his experiences being black.
The closing track is a simple one where he leaves a "message" to his family and children.
He varies his subject matter throughout the album, but still keeps his credibility.
