Jonny Lang's "Turn Around" LP ranks right up there with John Legend as far as inspirational music is concerned, but Lang's style sounds more like Beale Street blues meets alternative rock. The diversity of his music takes the listener on a journey from upbeat and positive to laidback and humble. "Bump in the Road" and the title trRachel Crosbyack make this a great CD to jam in the car. "Anything's Possible" and his gospel-style "Thankful" featuring Michael McDonald are upbeat enough to turn any bad mood good. "Only a Man" and "Last Goodbye" remind the listener that life isn't without its downtimes, but they are followed by reviver tracks such as "Don't Stop (For Anything)" and "On My Feet Again" that evoke strength. This powerful LP is perfect to jumpstart your day or make even the most outraged road warrior feel at home and happy in the middle of Memphis' rush hour train traffic.
