NASHVILLE (AP) - Safety Chris Hope signed his six-year, $32 million deal with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday, a contract that includes $10 million in guaranteed money.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers safety agreed to terms on the deal on March 15.
His agents Terry Williams and Bralyn Bennett called the package the largest six-year deal for a safety in NFL history, although Adam Archuleta received a six-year deal for $30 million with a $10 million signing bonus last week from Washington.
Hope played in 62 games in four seasons with the Steelers, and the third-round draft pick in 2002 had 216 tackles, four interceptions and three forced fumbles.
The Titans pursued him to bring some veteran experience, speed and leadership to a secondary that let Tank Williams leave as a free agent.
