He's done it again.
For the second time in this short season, Tiger pitcher DerekHankins was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week.
The accolade comes after Hankins guarnteed Memphis its firstC-USA seris win of the year by fanning 14 Louisville batters in a6-2 win Saturday.
Hankins (3-3) pitched the first complete game by a Memphispitcher this season. The JUCO-transfer gave up four hits and justone earned run and retired 18 of the last 19 hitters he faced.
The win gave Memphis (14-11, 3-6 in C-USA) its first C-USAseries win of the year after taking two of three from Louisvillethis weekend.
Hankins becomes the third pitcher in U of M history to earn aweekly league pitching honor twice in the same season.
Current Tiger Jarrett Grube accomplished the feat last seasonand Josh Stewart did so in 1999.
Hankins' was first honored by the league following his17-strikeout performance against Murray State on Feb. 28.
Memphis plays Arkansas State at Nat Burning field on SouthCampus today.
