After two weekend series victories, Matt Riser and Memphis baseball played their first full, five-game week of the season. The Tigers started the week with a dominant home victory against Alabama A&M, before taking a tough loss on the road against Little Rock and winning their weekend series at Louisiana Tech.

Selection Sunday is just a little more than three weeks away and Memphis projects to have their name called for the third time in four years. After gaining wins over current teams in the AP Poll #14 Michigan St., #15 Missouri, #18 Clemson, #24 Ole Miss, and the back-to-back national champions, UConn, Memphis had realistic hopes of achieving their highest seed since they were awarded a 2-seed in 2009.

Memphis defeated South Florida 80-65 in Tampa Thursday night for Penny Hardaway’s 150th win as the University of Memphis Head Coach. The 14th ranked Tigers (21-4, 11-1 AAC) have won eight in a row and maintain their two game lead for first place in the AAC over North Texas with six games left in the regular season.
