The NBA announced the schedule for all teams in the first-ever In-Season Tournament. Each team will face off against every team in their group as there are six groups with five teams each from the same conference.
The Grizzlies were placed in West Group A which also includes the Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Lakers, and Phoenix Suns.
Memphis will start group play on the road versus Portland on November 3rd. Next, they will go home to face the Utah Jazz on November 10th. Then, they will go to Los Angeles to play the Lakers on November 14th. Lastly, the Grizzlies will finish up group play at home versus the Phoenix Suns on November 24th.
Eight teams will advance to the knockout stage as the team with the best record in each group will advance, leaving two wild card teams. Wild card teams are teams that finished with the second-best record in their group. Each conference will have one wild card team that will advance.
In the case of a tie, the tiebreaker for the wild card spot will be based on the head-to-head record in the Group Stage, point differential, total points scored, regular season record from the previous season, or a random drawing.
The prize for the Tournament winner will include an undisclosed cash amount. MVP and all-tournament honors will be announced at the end of the tournament.
