Gaming glitches frustrate players

Two of the year’s biggest releases, “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” and “Assassin’s Creed: Unity,” have been beset with game-breaking glitches, problems getting into multiplayer and aggravating gameplay, leaving some players wondering why these problems arise in the first place.

Matt Bahnij, a competitive Halo player, believes that the problems that “Unity” and “The Master Chief Collection” have don’t just stem from long matchmaking times and connection issues, but also from a lack of fine-tuning in order to make sure the game and any problems are taken care of before release.

“Not only has multiplayer been down for both games, but also the fact it’s taking so long to fix it is the most unacceptable part,” Bahnij said. “I spent $60 on two unfinished products, and to be honest it’s disappointing that this is becoming a trend with almost every video game studio these days.”

Bahnij believes that it’s imperative that a game’s first impression is successful and not beset with issues, even if a game’s release date needs to be pushed back.

Bahnij said that with connection issues and irritating multiplayer bugs plaguing “The Master Chief Collection,” he is anxious to see if the issue will be fixed before players decide to abandon the game.

In a press release posted on their website, the developers of “The Master Chief Collection,” 343 Industries, stated that they were working to correct the issue.

“We're aware of issues some have been having with matchmaking and we’re working around the clock, alongside the Xbox Live team, to address,” they said. “Please be patient with us as we pave out all the issues.”

Another title that has let down many gamers is “Assassin’s Creed: Unity,” the release of which has been plagued with glitches and bugs that have made getting into the online multiplayer very difficult. Ubisoft employee David Pollar urged gamers to remain pation while they work out the kinks.

“I believe that most of these issues will be fixed in time, especially with our patch that will be released,” Pollar said. “Just be patient and everything will be fine, it’s just different adjusting to new consoles and their online workings.”
