Southern Avenue car thefts

A student’s car was burglarized in the parking lot on Southern Avenue. Thieves punched in the student’s door lock and took his cell phone and three pairs of shoes, according to a University of Memphis Campus Police Services report written by officer Jermaine Wilson dated Sept. 2. Another student reported a car theft in the Southern Avenue lot on Aug. 31. He said he left his Tahoe, thinking he locked the doors. When he returned, he found his stereo was stolen and dashboard damaged, according to a report written by officer Stephen Grisham.

Professor’s book stolen in Fogelman College of Business

A professor’s textbook was stolen from his office in the Fogelman College of Business on Aug. 22, according to a report written by officer Claude Berry. The professor waited until Sept. 1 to report it missing in hopes it would be turned in. There are no suspects.

Student’s wallet stolen from Catholic Student Center

A student’s wallet was stolen from the University Catholic Student Center on Sept. 1. He said he left it inside of a desk, and when he returned, found it in its same place. However, it wasn’t until five hours later when he went to an ATM that he realized his debit card was not inside of his wallet. He later learned his card had been used at the University Center. This crime report was written by U of M campus police officer Chanancy Donaldson.

Visitor’s laptop stolen from FedEx Institute

A visitor said he left his laptop in the FedEx Institute of Technology building Aug. 29, and when he returned, it was missing, according to a U of M Campus Police report written by officer John Hudgens. No suspects have been reported at this time.
