While most were asleep, a half inch of snow fell on the Mid-South.

The U of M was not the only school to close, and certainly not the first. Well before 6 a.m. all Shelby and DeSoto County schools closed due to the weather. Many students seemed thrilled by the third straight snow day in a row.
There is little chance it will snow again today but the high is 31 degrees and 19 is the low.
Thursday promises no relief from the cold, temperatures may drop as low as 9 degrees.
The roads will likely remain somewhat icey come Friday. Tempatures may get just above freezing. There may be light snow.
