Theft
On Sept. 30 at 4:35 p.m., an officer responded to the Carpenter Complex on a theft complaint. A resident said her cell phone was missing. There was no sign of forced entry.
Vandalism
On Sept. 30 at 7:32 p.m., an officer responded to the South Lot on a vandalism call. A student said that he parked at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28 and returned to his vehicle at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 30 to find someone had keyed the driver's door.
Monday September 29
Motor Vehicle Theft On Sept. 29 at 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle theft complaint on the Park Avenue campus. A resident said she parked at 11:30 p.m. on Friday Sept. 26 and returned Monday morning to find the car missing. Case is under investigation.
Burglary
On Sept. 29 at 12:06 p.m., an officer responded to Richardson Towers on a burglary complaint. A student said he left his room unlocked between 10:00 and 11:45 AM. When he returned, items were missing from his room. Case is under investigation.
Burglary
On Sept. 29 at 7:07 p.m., an officer responded to a burglary complaint at Richardson Towers. A student said that between Saturday 09/27/08 and Monday, some items were taken from his room. There was no sign of forced entry. Case is under investigation.
Theft
On Sept. 29 at 8:04 p.m., an officer responded to the Tiger Den on a shoplifting complaint. A student walked past the register area without paying for items in his possession. He was issued a misdemeanor citation for theft and released.
Saturday September 27
Burglary
On Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a burglary complaint at the Carpenter Complex. A resident said several items were missing from her room. There were signs of forced entry into the bedroom, but not the apartment. Case is under investigation.
Monday September 22
Theft From Motor Vehicle
On Sept. 22 at 11:43 a.m., an officer responded to Lot 17 at Patterson and Southern on a theft of vehicle parts complaint. A student said she parked at 9:10 and returned at 11:20 a.m. to find a window broken and the stereo removed.
Theft From Motor Vehicle
Sept. 22 at 11:43 a.m., an officer responded to a theft of vehicle parts complaint at Lot 17 at Patterson and Southern. A student said she parked at 9:10 a.m. and returned at 11:20 a.m. She noticed her window was broken, and the stereo had been taken.
Monday September 21
Assault - Simple
Sept. 21 at 4:46 a.m., an officer observed a female in a vehicle in the Zach Curlin North Lot who appeared to be crying. The driver told the officer her passenger, who was also her boyfriend, hit her. Officers noticed a cut above her eye. The boyfriend was taken into custody for domestic assault and then to jail. The driver was treated by Memphis Fire personnel at the scene and released.
Vandalism
Sept. 21 at 5:13 a.m., an officer responded to a vandalism complaint in the Carpenter Complex. A resident said that a window was broken overnight. He said he never heard the glass breaking. Entry was not made to the unit, and there was no indication of how the window was broken. The case is under investigation.
Monday September 20
Assault - Intimidation
Sept 20 at 7:15 a.m., officers responded to an assault intimidation complaint at Police Services. A student said her boyfriend threatened her and had approached her outside Smith Hall. The student was not harmed.
Monday September 19
Theft
Sept. 19 at 2:37 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at the campus bookstore. A staff member said she saw two suspects removing tags from items. The suspects were located and officers found the stolen merchandise. One of the suspects was issued a juvenile summons and released to her parents. The male suspect was issued a misdemeanor citation and escorted off campus.
